Art, for the enhancement of life
Aukje Niemeijer-Boerema was born in Marum (the Netherlands) in 1943.
Since an early age she had a lot of interest in art. She started painting around 1982.
Her teacher was Arie Zuidersma. Through lessons of him, self education and through looking at art she developed her painting skills. She paints impressions of landscapes, farms, and still life’s. Her paintings are often made on the basis of contact with nature.
Generally speaking she has rendered her paintings in broad colour backgrounds in bright colours cut back to tight forms. These bright colours generally evoke a cheerfull mood.
